Dr. Harish Chandra Upadhyay, graduate from University of Lucknow and P.G. (M.Sc. -Organic Chemistry) from Dr. R.M.L. Awadh University, Faizabad, U.P. He qualified CSIR-NET exam with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in June 2008 and started his research in CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) Lucknow in July 2009. He has been awarded PhD degree in July 2014 on topic ‘Phytochemical investigation of some Indian plants & structure activity relationship (SAR) study of their bioactive phytomolecules’. Currently he is working as Assistant Professor-Chemistry in Department of Applied Sciences, Rajkiya Engineering College Sonbhadra (U.P.), a Government college affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, India. He has many important portfolios in the institute including Member of the Research Council. Dr. Upadhyay has been involved in successful organization of Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), International Conferences and webinars. He has delivered invited talk in his area of interest in various conferences/FDPs organized in India. He is reviewer in many esteemed journals of Bentham and Springer Nature group. He is Life member of ‘The Indian Science Congress Association’ Kolkata, India and Vijnana Bharati, previously known as ‘Swadeshi Science Movement’.

His research area is Medicinal Chemistry/Drug discovery from medicinal plants. He has expertise in bioactivity guided isolation and characterization of phytomolecules by using modern chromatographic techniques (CC, CCC, MPLC, VLC & HPLC) and their characterization using 1D & 2D NMR, Mass, IR & UV spectroscopic techniques as well as chemical transformation of phytomolecules, synthesis of bioactive hybrid lead(s). He developed HPLC analytical methods for some important medicinal plants of India. He has published research articles in reputed journals such as CHEMMEDCHEM, Chemical Biology & Drug Design, Planta Medica, Medicinal Chemistry Research, Pharmaceutical Biology, Natural Product Communications, Journal of Chromatographic Science, and Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry.
